Abstract
Laboratory is very important especially for biology learning because all the material is related to practice, besides it is also useful to support biology learning because there are tools needed for biology learning. Practicum is important in biology learning so students understand the concepts found and practiced and compared to just listening to explanations without practice. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of biology laboratories in senior high school state 13 Palembang. The research was conducted at senior high school state 13 Palembang. This research was conducted in January�February 2019. This research uses mixed research. Data collection using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques according to Djemari Mardapi. The results showed that the effectiveness of using biology laboratories in senior high school state 13 Palembang which included very high categorized laboratory activities with a score of 8,909 which is X ≥ 7,333, high categorized laboratory conditions with a score of 12,632 which is 14,666 > X ≥ 12, very high practiced categorized with scores 15,34 which is X ≥ 14,666, the preparation and implementation of categorized practicum is very high with a score of 9,052 which is X ≥ 7.333, and the categorical report and evaluation is very high with a score of 11,036 which is X ≥ 11. As well as its contribution in making posters of biological laboratory equipment and their functions.
