Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out students’ problems in speaking activity at Language Class Program. A qualitative case study was used as a research methodology. An English teacher at MAN 1 Palembang was chosen as the participant of the study. Purposeful sampling was used as a strategy in selecting the participant. The data of study was collected by the interview with open-ended questions. In analyzing the data gained from the interview, thematic analysis was used. The result of the study showed that there were some problems encountered by students in the classroom speaking activity such as: having lack of pronunciation, lack of vocabulary, lack of grammar, inhibition, lack of necessary learningg facility, and the last problem students had lack of speaking opportunity during the learning process.
