Abstract

This study investigated the correlation between reading attitude and reading achievement, and investigated the influence of reading attitude on reading achievement of fourth semester EFL students of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang in academic year 2021/2022. The research was quantitative research. The sample of this study was all of the fourth semester students. The sample of thisstudy was 113 students. The data were collected by using reading attitude questionnaire and reading achievement TOEFL test. Descriptive statistic, Pearson Product Moment correlation and regression analysis were used to findout the correlation and the influence between variables. The result showed thatthere was a significant correlation between students reading attitude and reading achievement with r-obtained was (.418). Besides, there was also a significant influence of reading attitude on reading achievement with 17.4%. Keywords: correlation, reading attitude, reading achievement.
