Abstract
The aim of this study was to find out the teacher’s strategies in teaching English to the visually impaired students at SLB-A PRPCN Palembang. This study was carried out using qualitative research design with one teacher as the participant taken by using total sampling method. The data were collected by conducting observations and in-depth interviews, and were analyzed using thematic analysis technique. The result of the study revealed that there were four strategies used by the teacher in teaching English to the visually impaired students in SLB-A PRPCN Palembang, such as; (1) Total Physical Response (TPR), (2) Guided Reading, (3) Interactive Read Aloud, and (4) Writing Workshops. Additionally, this study recommends that these strategies may be continually used to teach English to the visually impaired students.
