Abstract
The purpose of this study was to is to find out teachers’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in teaching reading at SD IBA Palembang. The participants in this study were two English Teachers of SD IBA Palembang taken by using purposeful sampling, specifically maximal variation technique. This study used qualitative research and case study as the research methodology. In collecting data, the researcher used interviews. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of this study the advantages of using Google Classroom in reading activities from the teachers’ perceptions are: (a) Effective Classroom management , (b) Flexible learning application, (c) Safety and security, (d) Promoting teacher-student collaboration. The Disadvantages of Google Classroom perceived by the teachers’ are: (a) Too dependent on internet connectivity, and (b) The occurance of physical barriers. In addtional Google Classroom obviously could be a helpful application to suppport teaching and learning in this pandemic era both teachers and students had experience while using Google Classroom.
