Abstract
Endophytic fungi are microbes that inhabit the internal tissues of plants that do not cause harm to the host plant under any circumstances. This study aims to determine the genus of endophytic fungi found on mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla). This research is a qualitative descriptive study in the form of exploration by isolating and identifying endophytic fungi from mahogany plants (Swietenia macrophylla) taken from a location on Jalan Gub. H. Bastari, 8 Ulu, Seberang Ulu I District, Palembang City, South Sumatra 30267. The method used is a survey method with exploration. Exploration was carried out on the organs of the bark, root bark, leaves and roots of the mahogany plant (Swietenia macrophylla). Based on the research results, there were 10 isolates of endophytic fungi isolated from the organs of the bark, root bark, leaves and roots of the mahogany plant (Swietenia macrophylla). Based on macroscopic and microscopic fungi, there are 6 different genera, namely Gonatobotrys, Pythium, Histoplasma, Trichoderma, Aspergillus, and Nigrospora. ABSTRAK Fungi endofit adalah mikroba yang menghuni jaringan internal tanaman yang tidak menyebabkan kerusakan pada tanaman inang dalam keadaan apa pun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui genus fungi endofit yang terdapat pada tanaman mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif berupa eksplorasi dengan cara mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi fungi endofit dari tanaman mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla) yang diambil dari lokasi di Jalan Gub. H. Bastari, 8 Ulu, Kecamatan Seberang Ulu I, Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan 30267. Metode yang dipakai ialah metode survey dengan eksplorasi. Eksplorasi dilakukan pada organ kulit batang, kulit akar, daun, dan akar dari tanaman mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan sebanyak 10 isolat jamur endofit yang diisolasi dari organ kulit batang, kulit akar, daun, dan akar dari tanaman mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla). Berdasarkan identifikasi jamur makroskopis dan mikroskopis, terdapat 6 genus yang berbeda, yaitu Gonatobotrys, Pythium, Histoplasma, Trichoderma, Aspergillus, dan Nigrospora.
