Abstract
Abstract The background of the problem with the three precepts of Buddhism is sexual deviation, LGBT activities are not justified, but from a humanitarian perspective, perpetrators should be protected and guided so that they return to normal. The author uses a qualitative descriptive method to display the results of the data as they are without any manipulation or other treatment. The object of this research is the Vihara administrator and also the Vihara figure. Primary data sources were obtained through interviews with direct sources, one of which was Bhikkhu Nyana Virya and Father Sujarwoto. The results of this study include the following: First, the teachings of Buddhism do not absolutely judge something as good or bad, right or wrong. In the time of the Buddha there were already feminine homosexuals. In the Vinaya it is said that such a person is called a "pandaka". The Buddha advised a person to avoid certain behaviors, not because it is wrong from an ethical point of view, but because it would be against social norms or violate applicable laws. In such cases the Buddha said to try to abstain from such behavior in order to free him from the anxiety and shame caused by not conforming to societal norms or breaking the law. Secondly, according to Buddhist figures at the Dahrmakirti Vihara Palembang, LGBT is not a contagious disease. Nobody wants to be LGBT, we as human beings must respect and respect each other, both to those who are heterosexual and to those who are LGBT. Buddhism does not punish or judge people who are LGBT because it is not their fault that they were born LGBT. Keyword: LGBT, Buddhisem, Vihara
