Abstract
ABSTARCT This research takes the theme "The Spirituality of Prayer in the Al-Quran and Its Implications in Ethical and Aesthetic Aspects". This research is motivated by differences in responses to Makkiyah and Madaniyyah verses. The purpose of this study is to reveal the meaning of the text and the context of Makkiyah verses and Madaniyyah verses about the Spirituality of Prayer in the Qur'an and their implications for ethical and aesthetic aspects. This research includes analytical descriptive qualitative research using the thematic interpretation method that utilizes library data. There are 2 sources of data used, namely, primary data and secondary data. The conclusion obtained by text analysis based on makkiyah verses is that there are 5 verses, namely, prayer as a medium for building mental luck, prayer as a medium for building mental�spiritual fitness, prayer as a medium for strengthening faith in Allah, prayer as a medium for building mental responsibility, and prayer as a media of communication / self-approach to God. While the madaniyah verses contain 6 verses, namely, prayer is a medium for building mental independence, prayer is a medium for building mental resilience, prayer is a medium for maintaining purity/mental health, prayer is a medium for building mental honesty, prayer is a medium for building submission and mental obedience, and prayer is a medium to build mental discipline. From the analysis of the context, it is obtained as a criticism of the phenomenon of the Jahiliyah Arab community regarding prayer as prayer/worship and criticism of the phenomenon of hypocrisy in Medina. The ethical implications are in the form of building prayers with sincerity, building prayers with sincerity, building prayers with divine awareness, and building prayers with order and regularity. Aesthetic implications include honesty of intention, togetherness with Allah, solemnity of the soul, literacy (standardization of prayer), and discipline.
