Abstract
Each student certainly has a different character, some have a high sense of confidence and some have low self-confidence. Then the various motivations that make them optimistic or not optimistic and there are even students who have difficulty interpreting how their own self-concept is of course a problem and an obstacle for schools in developing students' potential according to their talents and interests and abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-concept and optimism with students' self-confidence. The population of this research is 440 students. The subjects of this study amounted to 195 students. This type of research uses quantitative methods. Sampling using purposive random sampling. Data analysis using multiple regression techniques and partial correlation. The first hypothesis test showed that there was a significant relationship between self-concept and optimism with self-confidence with R = 0.977 and Fcount = 3993.231, a significance of 0.00 (p <0.01). The second hypothesis gives a value of rx1y = 0.953 with a significance of 0.00 (p <0.01), there is a positive relationship between self-concept and selfconfidence. These results show that the second hypothesis is accepted. The third hypothesis gives a value of rx2y=0.986 with a significance of 0.00 (p<0.01), indicating that there is a positive relationship between optimism and self-confidence. These results indicate that the third hypothesis is accepted.
