Abstract

ABSTRACT Online shopping is a shopping activity without face to face contact via the internet network using a mobile phone and accessed from e-commers and others. Online shopping provides a new color for the millennial generation, such as among students. The impact of online shopping that makes students behave consumptively which is more concerned with wants than needs, therefore this study aims to determine the factors behind the students' consumptive behavior, the impact and describe the effect of online shopping on the consumptive behavior of Usuluddin students and Islamic thinking at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang from a consumer perspective. Jean Baudrillard. This type of research is qualitative and the form of research is field research. The primary data sources in this study were Uhsuluddin faculty students and Islamic thought class of 2019 and secondary data obtained from relevant literature such as books and journals. Methods of data collection using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. Technical data analysis using descriptive qualitative. The results of this study found that the factors that encourage students of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought to behave consumptively due to online shopping are because of the student's desires and lifestyle. The positive and negative impacts from the perspective of "consumerism" Jean Baudrillard sees that in modern times there has been a change in the concept of consumption, this is in line with consumptive behavior, which essentially buys the goods you want, instead of considering their needs.
