Abstract
This study was intended to find out the difficulties in listening comprehension faced by students of English Education Study Program of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Qualitative research was used as the research methodology. This study was conducted at English Education Study Program of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The total participants of this study were nine students taken from the forth semester students of the 2022/2023 academic year by using purposive sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation and interview. The data were analyzed by using thematic analysis technique. The results of this study showed that there were some difficulties that Fourth semester student of English Education Study Program of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang faced in listening comprehension. There were: 1) difficulty related to the listening material itself, 2) difficulty related to basic linguistics, 3) difficulty related to the low of concentration, 4) difficulty related to the students’ psychological characteristic, and 5) difficulty from the listener itself, 6) difficulty related to the speakers, and 7) difficulty related to physical setting
