Abstract

ABSTRACT An unhealthy lifestyle can increase the formation of free radicals in the body. The effects of free radicals can be stopped by the presence of antioxidants. Endophytic fungi are fungi that interact with plant tissues. Endophytic fungi generally produce secondary metabolites that have beneficial biological activities, one of which is as an antioxidant. Endophytic fungi can be found in various plant species including prabumulih pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr. 'Prabumulih'). This study aims to obtain endophytic fungal isolates from the stalk of Ananas comosus (L.) Merr. 'Prabumulih' characterize the endophytic fungi obtained, test the content of secondary metabolite compounds and test the antioxidant activity of the fungal isolates obtained against DPPH then analyzed using linear regression. From the research that has been done, endophytic fungi of Prabumulih pineapple stalk (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr. 'Prabumulih') that were successfully identified were Trichoderma sp., Codinaea sp., Curvalaria sp., and Gongronella sp. The highest antioxidant activity was possessed by Curvularia sp. with an IC50 value of 47.829 µg/ml (very strong), Gongronella sp. had an IC50 value of 119.693 µg/ml (medium), Trichoderma sp. had an IC50 value of 138, 290 µg/ml (medium), and Codinaea sp. had an IC50 value of 508.471 µg/ml (weak).
