Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of communication anxiety on students at SMA Negeri 15, Ilir Timur I District, Palembang. And take examples from direct observations of several classes that have been delivered by the teacher. When one of the students was pointed at by the teacher, the body language he showed was as persistent as the concept of communication anxiety. Powell & Powell (2010) explain communication anxiety as an individual's level of fear related to communication situations, both real communication and communication that the individual will carry out with other people or with many people. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive design. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the research findings, it was concluded that several things in the research on the Impact of Communication Anxiety on Students at SMA Negeri 15 Ilir Timur I Palembang Regency, all three subjects experienced these things. the impact of communication anxiety, such as fear, worry and embarrassment regarding other people's responses and the subject feels the situation is very threatening due to uncertainty in the future and fear that something bad will happen.
