Abstract

ABSTRACT Name : Dhiya Bernika Ifadah Study Program/Faculty : Islamic Psychology/Psychology Title :Toxic Behavior among Outstanding Students who Play Mobile Legends Online Games in Palembang This research aims to find out what toxic behavior arises from playing the online game Mobile Legends and to find out what factors cause Mobile Legends online game players in Palembang to engage in toxic behavior. Then, this research uses a qualitative research methodology with a descriptive type. This research has 3 subjects, students with academic and non-academic achievements. The results of the research show that toxic behavior arises from playing the online game Mobile Legends, namely, where the three subjects show toxic behavior by sending offensive chats, then the three subjects also violate the rules in the game by using other software that gives unfair advantages to other players. illegally and the three subjects also carried out intimidating behavior repeatedly towards other players over a long period of time and with the aim of frightening and insulting other players, degrading teammates and not wanting to be blamed. This is due to several factors that occur when playing the online game Mobile Legends, namely, poor play by other players, AFK (Away From Keyboard) behavior, troll behavior, feeding behavior and lack of cohesiveness in the team. Keywords: Toxic behavior, students, mobile legends   INTISARI Nama : Dhiya Bernika Ifadah Program Studi : Psikologi Islam Judul :Toxic Behavior pada Mahasiswa Berprestasi Pemain Game Online Mobile Legends di Palembang Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku toxic apa saja yang timbul dari bermain game online Mobile Legends dan untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja yang menyebabkan pemain game online Mobile Legends di Palembang melakukan perilaku toxic. Kemudian, penelitian ini menggunakan metodelogi penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Penelitian ini memiliki 3 subjek mahasiswa berprestasi akademik dan non akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku toxic yang timbul dari bermain game online Mobile Legends yaitu, dimana ketiga subjek menunjukkan perilaku toxic dengan mengirim chat yang bersifat ofensif, kemudian ketiga subjek juga melanggar aturan dalam permainan dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak lain yang memberikan keuntungan tidak adil terhadap pemain lain secara ilegal dan ketiga subjek juga melakukan perilaku mengintimidasi secara berulang-ulang terhadap pemain lain dalam jangka waktu yang lama serta bertujuan untuk menakuti dan menghina pemain lain, merendahkan rekan satu tim dan tidak mau disalahkan. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena adanya beberapa faktor yang terjadi dalam bermain game online Mobile Legends yaitu, adanya permainan yang kurang baik yang dilakukan oleh pemain lain, adanya perilaku AFK (Away From Keyboard), adanya perilaku troll, adanya perilaku feeding dan tidak adanya kekompakkan dalam tim.
