Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and the quality of friendship relationships in students of the Faculty of Psychology UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The research method used is correlational quantitative method and data collection using Likert scale. The population in this study were all active students of the Faculty of Psychology UIN Raden Fatah Palembang which amounted to 1,200 people, and a sample of 270 people. Sampling in this study used a non-probability method using Purposive Sampling. The research instruments used were the emotional intelligence scale and the quality of friendship relationships scale McGill Friendship Questionnaire�Friendship Function. . The results of data analysis using Pearson's Product Moment correlation technique with the help of Jamovi version 2.3.28 for windows show a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and the quality of friendship relationships. This is evidenced by the results (r=0.287; p=0.001). Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Friendship Relationship Quality, College Students
