Abstract
This study aims to investigate students’ perceptions on speaking activities in English week program. Using qualitative approach with a case study, this study was carried out in MTs Darul Iman Sri Kembang Ogan Ilir. Moreover, three students with different score was recruited as participant by using purposeful sampling. This study used interview through open-ended questions with 16 items as an instrument to collect the data. For analyzing the data, thematic analysis was selected in developing themes and sub themes of the data. The finding showed that there were several speaking activities in English Week Program that influenced the component of speaking skill based on the students’ perceptions at MTs Darul Iman Sri Kembang Ogan Ilir. They were: (1) memorizing vocabulary, (2) daily conversation, (3) speech, (4) translation, and (5) games. Therefore, the explanation of the speaking activities in English Week Program that influence component of speaking skill were described as following in order to know the further much information about them.
