Abstract
The era of globalization has had a significant impact on the development of languages throughout the world, including Indonesian. On the one hand, globalization opens up opportunities for Indonesian to reach more users and play an active role in international communication. On the other hand, globalization also presents challenges for Indonesian, such as the dominance of foreign languages, the influence of foreign cultures, and the loss of the richness of regional languages. This journal will discuss the challenges and opportunities for developing Indonesian in the era of globalization, as well as examining strategies that can be implemented to strengthen the position of Indonesian in the global context. This journal discusses the challenges and opportunities for developing Indonesian in the era of globalization. On the one hand, Indonesian is faced with the dominance of English as an international language, which has the potential to eliminate the use and role of Indonesian in various fields. On the other hand, globalization also opens up opportunities for Indonesian to develop & reach a wider reach. And the challenges faced are the lack of use of Indonesian in the digital world and the lack of resources to develop Indonesian. However, opportunities for developing Indonesian can be achieved through efforts to preserve and develop Indonesian, increase the use of Indonesian in the digital world, and promote Indonesian at the international level.
