Abstract

In the current digital era, technological advancements have driven various sectors, including the business sector, to adopt reliable and responsive information systems that cater to changing business needs. TB. Carada Elektrik, a building materials store in Lahat City, South Sumatra, faces various inventory management issues such as imbalances between inventory levels and customer demand, a lack of real-time inventory monitoring capabilities, and still using traditional methods for transaction processes and report recording. This research aims to develop an inventory information system using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method and the CodeIgniter framework. The system also utilizes the Safety Stock and Reorder Point (ROP) method for inventory control and the Blackbox Testing method for system testing. The results of this study can improve the efficiency of inventory management, enhance data accuracy, speed up transaction processes and financial reporting, and support better decision-making at TB. Carada Elektrik. Keywords: Inventory Information System, Rapid Application Development (RAD), Safety Stock, Reorder Point (ROP) Abstrak: Pada era digital saat ini, kemajuan teknologi telah mendorong berbagai sektor, termasuk sektor bisnis, untuk mengadopsi sistem informasi yang andal dan responsif terhadap perubahan kebutuhan bisnis. TB. Carada Elektrik, toko bangunan di Kota Lahat, Sumatra Selatan, menghadapi berbagai permasalahan dalam manajemen inventory seperti ketidakseimbangan antara persediaan barang dan permintaan customer, kurangnya kemampuan memantau persediaan barang secara real-time, serta masih menggunakan metode tradisional untuk proses transaksi dan pencatatan laporan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem informasi inventory menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development (RAD) dan framework Codeigniter. Sistem ini juga menggunakan metode Safety Stock dan Reorder Point (ROP) untuk pengendalian stok barang dan metode Blackbox Testing untuk pengujian sistem. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan stok, memperbaiki akurasi data, mempercepat proses transaksi serta pelaporan keuangan dan mendukung pengambilan keputusan yang lebih baik di TB. Carada Elektrik.
