Abstract

Global Strategic Index (GSI) is an index developed by the Accounting Research Institute at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, aimed at analyzing economic conditions, particularly in ASEAN countries. This research aims to develop a web-based information system using the Extreme Programming method, which has advantages in rapid and adaptive development processes. This system is equipped with GSI score calculation features and interactive data visualization to facilitate analysis. The system development includes the stages of planning, design, coding, and testing. This process produces an information system that enables automatic data management, speeds up the presentation of information, and reduces the potential for errors in data processing. The data visualization implemented in the system helps users, including stakeholders and investors, to understand and utilize GSI information more easily and effectively. The main objective of this research is to assist the Accounting Research Institute in managing and delivering GSI information efficiently, while also providing tools that can enhance accuracy in strategic decision-making. In addition, this system is expected to serve as a valuable reference for researchers, academics, and practitioners focusing on economic development studies in the ASEAN region. With the developed system, it is hoped that the data processing and economic decision-making processes can be carried out more quickly, accurately, and precisely.
