Abstract
This study was a correlational study. It is aimed to describe the correlation between reflective thinking and listening comprehension achievement. The objectives of this study were to find out (1) whether or not there is a significant correlation between reflective thinking and listening comprehension achievements of the eleventh grade students, (2) whether or not there is a influence between reflective thinking and listening comprehension achievements of the eleventh grade students. For the data collection, the reflective thinking questionnaire by Kember (2000) and TOEFL Junior listening test were distributed to the 98 eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang. Based on the data analysis, it was found that r-obtained (.011) was lower than r-table (.195). then, the level of probability (p) significance (sig 2-tailed) was .918 was higher than .05. The result showed that (1) there was no correlation between reflective thinking and listening comprehension achievement, (2) reflective thinking did not give any influence to listening comprehension achievement. It means that, students’ reflective thinking is not a dominant factor that affects writing achievement. Therefore, the teachers should pay attention more to the students’ reflective thinking and know the students’ reflective thinking to make the lesson plan match their strategies in teaching and learning process.
