Abstract

This article discusses the paradigm of freedom and religious tolerance in Islam which contains teachings on human equality. On top of this equality, brotherhood and friendship between adherents of religion in social life based on humanity can be formed to realize a shared social order. So from the human side, Islam does not recognize exclusivism, and in terms of aqidah, Islam also does not recognize intolerance. In social relations, Islam portrays people who are not allowed to debate with followers of other religions except in a polite and ethical manner, and they can do good and fair to other religious communities. Expansion of interpretations of religious teachings in an actual and empirical way by revising them with socio-economic, political and cultural reality aspects is an effort to socialise and foster religious values ​​in social life and in the country, especially in development, so that religion can be described in development. The results showed that the breadth and depth of his religious teachings would foster an open and inclusive attitude and outlook towards humanitarian and humanitarian problems.
