Abstract
ABSTRACT Science literacy and information literacy is one form of learning outcomes. For this reason, this study aims to look at the effect of these two variables on one’s baseness to follow the government’s recommendations in order to prevent COVID-19. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Respondents involved in this study amounted to 80 people consisting of men and women with an age range between 20-50 years scattered in several cities and provinces in Indonesia. The data collection instrument consisted of 30 questions to identify and score the three variables. Data analysis was performed using a two-variable multiple linear regression test with the help of SPSS 25 software. Based on the data and discussion it was concluded that the ability of scientific literacy and information literacy affects self-awareness in the prevention of COVID-19 by 79.7%. The remaining 18.3% is influenced by other factors, such as health literacy. Because it can be said that the level of scientific literacy and information literacy has a strong enough influence on individual self-awareness in following the government’s recommendations for the prevention of COVID-19. Because science literacy and information literacy are part of learning outcomes, the government needs to train teachers and other education personnel so that they have good scientific literacy and information literacy abilities, so that in the future they can teach both variables to students through the learning process.
