Abstract
This study aims to determine the protein, carbohydrate and fat content and which nutrient content is highest in the BSF maggot (Hermetia illucens) in Palembang City Kalidoni and produce biology learning media that is used as a reference material on insect. This research was conducted n February 2020. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The population in this study is the maggot BSF at the larval stage and the sample of this study is the maggot BSF larva at the instar stage VI. Data collection techniques in this study is to use the method of Kjeldahl, Soxhlet, and by different. Analysis of the data used is quantitative descriptive in the form of percentages and averages that are displayed in tabular form. The results showed a protein content of 49.67%, carbohydrate content of 0.18% and fat content of 21.17%. Where protein is the highest nutrient content. Contribution in this research is in the form of insect encyclopedia used as a medium of learning biology in SMA/MA.
