Abstract
This study aims to describe the results of research regarding: (1) familystrategies in the school environment to shape the character of discipline andresponsibility in children; (2) the impact of family strategies in shapingthecharacter of discipline and responsibility in children. This study uses a descriptivequalitative research type by directly examining the field. The subject of this studywere families (parents), teacher/ homeroom teacher, and fourth graders. Datacollection techniques by observation, intervews, and documentation. Dataanalysis using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Basedon the data analysis that has been carried out, the results of the study showthefollowing; first, the family strategy in the elementary school environment inshaping the character of discipline and responsibility in children is a habituationstrategy, by means of the family (parent) working with the teacher (guardian). Classin giving or exemplifying good habits and examples. Second, the impact of family strategies in shaping the character of discipline and responsibilityinchildren, has an impact both on children and for their daily lives and children’sfuture.
