Abstract
This study investigated the correlation between classroom climate and academic achievement, and investigated the influence of classroom climate on academic achievement of the undergraduate EFL students of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang in academic year 2017/2018. The research was a quantitative research. The sample of this study was all of the fifth semester students. The total number of the students was 103 students. Since 22 were absent, the sample of this study was 81 students. The data were collected by using classroom climate questionnaire and GPA score of the students. Descriptive statistic, Pearson product moment correlation and regression analyzewere used to find out the correlation and the influence between variables. The result showed that there was no a significant correlation between students’ classroom climate and academic achievement withrobtained was (.194). It was lower than r-table (.218). Besides, there was no significant influence of classroom climate toacademic achievement. This study could have implications for English language teachers or lecturer, learners, and text book writers.
