Abstract
This study was intended to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in writing activities at SMP LTI IGM Palembang. It used qualitative research with a case study to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in writing activities. The study was conducted at SMP LTI IGM Palembang with six students as the participants by using one of the purposeful sampling methods, maximum variation sampling. In collecting data, interview through open ended questions were used. The data were analyzed by using thematic analysis technique. The results of this study shows that there were five students’ perceptions on the use of Google Classroom in writing activities, as follows: (a) no improvement in grammar, (b) perceived progress of vocabulary, (c) feasible to use in finishing assignment, (d) problems often occured due to internet connection, and (e) students’ lack of generating ideas in writing.
