Abstract
This thesis discusses the relationship between social development and smoking behavior in adolescents at SMA PGRI II Palembang. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social development and smoking behavior in adolescents at SMA PGRI II Palembang. By using quantitative research.The sample used in this study amounted to 120 students. The data analysis method used is Product moment analysis. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the relationship between social development and smoking behavior, this is evidenced by the value of the correlation coefficient which shows the number 0.750 with a sig value. 0.000 where p <0.05, meaning that the higher the social development of adolescents, the lower the smoking behavior of adolescents, on the contrary, the lower the social development of adolescents, the higher the smoking behavior of adolescents
