Abstract

This research aims to determine the correlation between self-control and internet addiction in students at SMP Negeri 10 Sekayu. This research uses a quantitative research design with correlational research methods. The population in this study was 143 students at SMP Negeri 10 Sekayu, with a sample of 105 students taken using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection instruments used were the self-control scale and internet addiction scale, and simple regression analysis techniques were used with the help of SPSS Version 26.0 for Windows. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, it shows that the correlation coefficient value is 0.552 with a significance of 0.000 where p < 0.05. The results of this research show that there is a very significant negative correlation between self-control and internet addiction among students at SMP Negeri 10 Sekayu.
