Abstract
vii ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman Generasi Z di Desa Sidomulyo, Kabupaten Banyuasin, terhadap simbol Green Dot pada produk kosmetik berlabel halal serta mengeksplorasi keterkaitannya dengan preferensi konsumsi produk tersebut dalam perspektif Ekonomi Islam. Simbol Green Dot umumnya menunjukkan bahwa suatu produk ramah lingkungan, namun masih terdapat kesenjangan pemahaman di kalangan konsumen Muslim mengenai maknanya dan relevansinya terhadap prinsip halal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini dengan kreteria pelaku usaha kosmetik dan konsumen Generasi Z . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman terhadap simbol Green Dot masih terbatas; sebagian besar informan lebih mengutamakan label halal dibandingkan simbol lainnya. Namun, terdapat kecenderungan bahwa simbol Green Dot dapat memperkuat nilai kehalalan produk ketika dikaitkan dengan konsep keberlanjutan dan etika lingkungan, yang sejalan dengan prinsip dasar Ekonomi Islam seperti kemaslahatan, kebersihan, dan tanggung jawab terhadap alam. Temuan ini merekomendasikan pentingnya edukasi konsumen mengenai simbol-simbol lingkungan dalam produk halal untuk memperkuat kesadaran konsumsi etis di kalangan generasi muda. Kata kunci: Green Dot, Kosmetik Halal, Generasi Z, Ekonomi Islam viii ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the level of understanding among Generation Z in Sidomulyo Village, Banyuasin Regency, regarding the Green Dot symbol on halallabeled cosmetic products and to explore its relationship with their consumption preferences from an Islamic Economics perspective. The Green Dot symbol generally indicates that a product is environmentally friendly; however, there remains a gap in understanding among Muslim consumers about its meaning and relevance to halal principles. The research method employed is a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews and documentation. Informants in this study included cosmetic business actors and Generation Z consumers. The results show that understanding of the Green Dot symbol remains limited; most informants prioritize the halal label over other symbols. Nevertheless, there is a tendency for the Green Dot symbol to reinforce the halal value of a product when associated with sustainability and environmental ethics, which align with the core principles of Islamic Economics such as public benefit, cleanliness, and responsibility towards nature. These findings recommend the importance of consumer education about environmental symbols on halal products to strengthen ethical consumption awareness among the younger generation.
