Abstract
The aims of the present study were to investigate (1) whether there was significant correlation between learners’ autonomy and listening comprehension, and (2) whether laerners’ autonomy significantly influenced listening comprehension of the eleventh grade students of MAN 2 Palembang. Correlational design was applied in this study. 75 students of eleventh grade students at MAN 2 took part in the study as the sample by using convenience sampling. Futhermore, there were two variables in this study. The first was learners’ autonomy (variable X) as predictor and the second was listening comprehension (variable Y) as criterion. The data of this study were collected through learners’ autonomy questionnaire was ready made develop by Spratt, Humphreys, and Chan (2002) and listening comprehension test. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the r-obtained (.099) was lower than r-table (0.227) and the level of probability (p) significance (sig.2 tailed) was .400 higher than 0.05. It means Ho was accepted and Ha is rejected.
