Abstract

This study aims to find out how the views or perceptions of consumers in Waroeng Steak n Shake in Palembang regarding halal certificates. These days, the phenomenon of halal industry have been increasing globally including in Indonesia, such as the halal culinary industry or halal food, makes Consumer perceptions about halal certificates are important because the existence of halal certificates is based on consumers' need for information on halal products. Halal food is known to be able to produce food that is better in terms of health, safety and environmental friendliness. To find out whether the food consumed is halal food, consumers can find out from the halal certification of the food product. Consumers have views and concerns about halal certification that a halal certificate is not only a sign of halal, but also a guarantee of healthy food quality. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method by collecting field research data. The research was conducted by observation and direct interviews with informants and documentation. The informants in this study are employee of waroeng steak n shake and 30 consumers of waroeng steak n shake in Palembang. The results of this study show that there are 13 consumers with a percentage of 43.5% who perceive that halal certificates are important. There are 10 consumers with a perception of 33.5% that they do not consider halal certificates by looking at the identity of the producer. There are 7 consumers with a percentage of 23% who perceive that halal certificates are not important.
