Abstract

This study aims to produce a mathematical learning media for geometric sequences and series in the context of Malay Islam using Adobe Animate CC which is valid, practical and has a potential effect on mathematical understanding capabilities. This research is a type of Design Research (DR) using the research flow of Tessmer (1993). The results showed that the learning media was feasible to use based on the media validity assessment of 93% which mean "the media is very suitable to be used" for the practicality of learning media to get results of 79% which mean "practical media used" and for the potential effect on mathematical ability in the media get results of 77% means "learning media has a potential effect on mathematical understanding ability". It is known that the results of students' mathematical understanding of geometric sequences and series material using the Malay Islamic context as a whole obtained 73% results which can be interpreted that students' ability to understand geometric sequences and series material using the resulting learning media is good. Then the resulting learning media can be used in the learning process because it has met the valid, practical criteria and has a potential effect on mathematical understanding abilities.
