Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the Predict-Observe-Explaint (POE) learning model on student biology learning outcomes on the structure and function of plants. The research design used was the Pretest-Posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The samples in this study were class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and class XI IPA 2 as the control class. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling technique. The results of the posttest in the experimental class obtained the smallest value of 75 while the largest value was 92 so that the average value was 83.69 while the control class obtained the smallest value of 40 while the largest value was 92 so that the average value is 68.22. The results showed that in this study there was an influence of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on students' biology learning outcomes. it can be concluded that the application of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model can improve student learning outcomes in plant tissue material. This can be seen from the average value in the experimental class, which is higher than the control class, namely 83.69 for the experimental class and 68.22 for the control class.
